About Furlong Cottage

Furlong Cottage is a compact, single storey detached cottage, situated on the farm, in the heart of rural South Hams, with beaches just 7 minutes’ drive away. There are footpaths that run directly from the property into the surrounding countryside and for the keen walkers, it’s possible to walk all the way to the beach. There are the most fabulous, far-reaching views from the surrounding fields with distant views of the sea and rolling countryside. There is private parking behind the building. This cottage is perfect for couples seeking a quiet retreat in the middle of the countryside.

There is so much wildlife around and beautiful dark skies for late night star gazing or keen photographers.

Accommodation

This modern and stylish cottage covers 432 sq ft and is all on one floor, making it perfect for thosewith limited mobility. Please note however, that there is a small step into the property.

Furlong Cottage was built in 2020 and is extremely warm and efficient.

The large bedroom boasts a luxury king sized bed with an incredibly comfortable mattress and a glorious deep piled carpet. All towels and Egyptian cotton bed linen are provided for your stay. Please note, however, that you will need to bring beach towels with you.

The open plan living area is roomy and bright and is tastefully decorated.

Overall, the cottage is very comfortably furnished and there are DVDs, books and games for cosy nights in. Information, guidebooks and maps are provided to help you plan your stay. There is efficient electric heating for chilly nights.

Previous guests have commented on how large the property is in comparison to the pictures and how well equipped it is, and for those that use mobility aids, there is loads of room to manoeuvre inside the property.

We had a couple of nights in the winter at Furlong Cottage

it provided everything we needed. Lovely and warm, a great shower, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. A great base for exploring the coast. Thoroughly recommend this for couple looking for a few days to recharge or a longer holiday break.

Laura’s attention to detail is exceptional

From her directions through the Devon country roads to the beautiful decor of this lovely cottage. Whilst we enjoyed the quiet privacy of the cottage, Laura did not hesitate to answer any questions we had. We spent our time out walking and sight-seeing, but when the weather wasn’t on our side, the cottage was well equipped for a cosy, relaxing day in. I definitely recommend visiting Laura’s beautiful cottage!

set in the beautiful South Devon countryside. The place was beautifully decorated and furnished and provided a very comfortable stay. The extra touches such as the coffee pods, milk and tea were a great addition. It was a great base to explore the local area with our favourite nearby spots being Slapton Sands, and Kingsbridge. We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing countryside break!

Excellent find in beautiful South Devon countryside

The cottage was well situated for local pubs restaurants and places to visit. Great for long and short coastal walks. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable for relaxing after a long day. Very clean and up to date with furnishings bedding and plenty of hot water with an excellent shower. On site parking and small shared courtyard were a bonus.

The cottage was perfect for our short break away from everything!

A great location with short drives to the beach and countryside one the doorstep. We visited a couple of nearby beaches and Dartmouth which was lovely. The cottage was cleaned thoroughly and felt brand new when we entered! Laura is very friendly and helpful, was there when we arrived and on hand whenever we had any questions. Would highly recommend for anyone wanting to have a break from the city!

You won’t be disappointed with a trip to Furlong Cottage

The location was perfect for exploring the Devon coastline. The cottage itself was extremely clean and tidy, with a well equipped kitchen which was great. Laura was a fantastic host, she was on hand to help, provided useful information and extremely quick to respond to any queries we had.
